The Lost Class

Firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teens in the United States. In one year alone, 3,044 students from the high school class of 2021 never graduated because they were killed by a gun.

So we held a graduation ceremony for them.

We created a fake school called James Madison Academy and invited two prominent gun-rights advocates to deliver commencement speeches. They believed it was a rehearsal.

Instead, they spoke to an auditorium of empty chairs.
To the Lost Class.

By placing gun-rights voices inside that absence, the work shifted the conversation without arguing or lecturing.

The silence did the talking.

I was fortunate to support the team in bringing this work to life.
